"I could tell that she genuinely cared"
As a five year old boy I had a routine visit to the dentist. I was told I needed to open my mouth wider. Feeling I was not opening wide enough, the frustrated dentist slapped me. This, for obvious reasons, instilled a great fear of dentists in me. The following years proved difficult for me. A dentist visit was sheer torture. I went only because I was forced to. Once I was old enough to make these types decisions on my own, I foolishly chose not to seek dental treatment. This, as you can imagine, lead to problems. What do they say about hindsight being 20-20? Finally, and while in my 20's, I visited a dentist that made me feel comfortable. He took the time to visit with me and give a detailed explanation of the procedure he was about to perform. Although I would still feel apprehensive, a dentist visit was not something I detested. Six years ago I moved to Crossville from Florida. I dreaded having to find a new dentist. Friends recommended Dr. Pamela Cain. On my initial visit, and upon meeting Dr. Cain, I nervously joked about my "fear" of the dentist. She took the time to find out what this fear was, and, what she could do to lessen it. I could tell that she genuinely cared and truly wanted to make me feel comfortable. And that she did. In fact, everyone in the office has been caring and kind. I'm not going to tell you that I, "can't wait" to go to the dentist, but it's not something I make excuses to get out of. I'm glad my friends made this recommendation. - Jim Halleran

My husband and I want you to know how much we appreciated the care my husband received from you; Dr. Robert Cain, and the staff from both your offices while treating my husband. Unfortunately, my husband was traumatized as a child by a dentist who tied him in a chair while treating him. As a result my husband would not seek regular dental care except for two occasions when he needed extractions over a 50+ year period. This past spring when a front tooth broke, causing a cosmetic and dental problem, we sought the services of Dr. Pamela Cain. Dr. Cain and her staff were so understanding and reassuring of my husband’s emotional and physical fears while treating him with courtesy and kindness. As we entered into the treatment phase, every option was explained with detail, assuring my husband that they respected his fears and would do whatever they could to help him. Dr. Robert Cain surgically removed the broken tooth and a partial plate was designed and put in place over a period of time by Dr. Pamela Cain, allowing for healing and general dental care. My husband is so pleased with his treatment, his partial, and has improved his overall, daily dental care. He has followed with regular dental visits with Dr. Pam.
