iTero Digital Impressions

iTero Digital ImpressionsDr. Cain is the first dentist in Tennessee to incorporate state-of-the-art iTero digital impressions into her office. This sophisticated technology uses laser and optical scanning to digitally capture surface and contours of the tooth and gingival structures. In just seconds, the iTero scanner captures 100,000 points of laser light and more than 300 focal depths to deliver an amazingly clear image.

The entire process for taking a digital impression is less than five minutes, which is the time it takes for conventional impression material to set. Since the dentist doesn’t have to take the time to prep or clean up trays, the patient receives more one-on-one time with the doctor. Also, conventional impression trays and messy putty are uncomfortable and unpleasant for the patient.

Even more impressive, are the real time images that show on the computer screen. This unmatched visualization is one of the greatest benefits of the iTero digital impressions technology. The dentist can quickly visualize the treatment area in 360 degrees and make quick adjustments and confirmation to preparation design. Furthermore, the digital images can be viewed by the patient instantly so that they too can see what is going on in their mouth and be an active part of the treatment process.
